Mayor of Ards and North Down Officially Opens Ailsa Lodge Care Home in Bangor

Ailsa Lodge, the latest care home to be acquired by Conway Group Healthcare in May 2018, was officially declared open this month by Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Richard Smart.
The care home, which is located in an idyllic setting at 6 Killaire Avenue in Bangor, invited friends and families to undertake a tour of the care home, meet the staff and enjoy festive refreshments.
A 41-bed care home, Ailsa Lodge offers the highest standards of nursing care, in addition to care for young disabled people.

Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Richard Smart, who conducted the official opening said:

“Ailsa Lodge Care Home provides a vital service in the Bangor area. We live in an environment where people are living longer and this inevitably means that more people need to be able to access nursing care. It’s so important that we have this service embedded in the local community.  The setting for Ailsa Lodge is superb. It overlooks the bay and the views are simply stunning. It has bags of character and this is something that both the residents and their families regularly comment on.”

Discussing the acquisition, Director Therese Conway of Conway Group Healthcare added:

“We were delighted to host the official opening of Ailsa Lodge Care Home just in time for Christmas. We are very proud to have a beautiful building that our residents can call home, where we provide a dedicated team of professionals who deliver outstanding levels of care and understanding. This home not only provides care for those who need it but it helps family structures to remain intact, by ensuring residents can continue to live close to their loved ones while benefiting from excellent care.
“I want to thank all of our staff, some of whom have been working at Ailsa Lodge for over 20 years. Their commitment and dedication is second to none. They are warm and welcoming and create a ‘home from home’ environment for residents. Indeed, this is one of the things that struck me when I first visited Ailsa Lodge. We are currently looking to expand our team with care and nursing staff, so if you feel that you’ve the right skills and you’re keen to tend to the needs of others please do get in touch.”
Ailsa Lodge Care Home is one of eight care homes owned and operated by Conway Group Healthcare across Northern Ireland. Person centred quality care that maintains dignity but which is delivered with compassion is paramount to the team, who have been delivering nursing and residential care for more than 20 years.
