Welcome to The Cottage Care Home

The Cottage Care Home has been described as ‘a very special place’.

It has touched the hearts of so many families living in the picturesque Causeway Coast and Glens. This recently refurbished, modern home has been caring for people for over 30 years.

We’ve taken all of our experience over those years to bring the very best of our knowledge and our expertise to each and every one of our residents.

Our nursing staff are loyal and many have been working here for over a decade. We think like a family, we act like a family and most importantly we welcome new residents and family members into our home as if they were our own.

Our residents are at the heart of all that we do.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Cottage.

Relative

“Dementia is such a specialist field taking special people to deliver the care, and The Cottage, (Coleraine) have that in abundance….what your staff offer in The Cottage is love. The residents are treated like family members. Families are made welcome and that makes having someone you love being ill somewhat easier”

Quote from Family Member

“I have a relative being cared for in the Dunluce suite of your home The Cottage in Coleraine,  and I have to tell you how pleased I am with the quality of care he is receiving.

I have never in my professional life seen a unit with such dedicated, compassionate, caring and hard working staff. Dementia is such a specialist field taking special people to deliver the care, and the cottage have that in abundance. I witnessed staff go over and beyond their duties. I have seen staff covering each other’s leave so that a continuity of care could be given to your residents, to prevent stress and upset.

I have also seen staff work extra time if a resident needs them, so that they are comforted or are supported with personal care.

I as a family member receive updates every evening on my relative which, keeps me informed of his condition.  These updates  are welcome as I feel part

of the care he is receiving. My views are always taken into consideration as are my feelings which,  is a welcome change in dementia nursing provision.

With what Ian has had to go through as his dementia has deteriorated has taken its toll on me, I worried non stop about him however, from becoming a resident in the cottage I find that I can go to work with out worrying about him as I can trust the staff to offer him the best care available.

I have talked about care in the body of this email however, that does not explain what your staff offer in the cottage they offer love. The residents are treated like family members. Families are made welcome and that makes having someone you love being ill somewhat easier.
The staff team in Dunluce and senior staff nurse  Lisa are a credit to your company.
If there is any way that your company can recognise this staff team please do so, as they are amazing and they are great ambassadors for the Conway Group”.

Your sincerely  Adrian Friel.
